We started out on our Spring Break trip to New York City at 3:00 p.m. today from Oklahoma City. Then the weather got bad and we’re stranded in Detroit. It’s not even pretty here…so of course we meet a whole slew of characters. There was the nice airline lady who answered all my obscure questions, the guy who kept yelling about some blonde girl who wouldn’t help him, and the guy on the shuttle to our hotel who has the kids with long, pretty names.
Then, we walk into the hotel, and it’s awesome! It’s so retro-sheik. Our room is even cuter! Lindsey and Belinda have the king, and Lauren and I have the fold-out couch. The bathroom and shower are in separate cubicles shut off by sliding doors. The little sink is molded to the corner wall, and it looks like it belongs in a tiny porcelain house. The shower room has a off-set circular mirror with a ring of light around it. The show is one of those cool open glass ones that are in movies. Both are complemented by pastel tile walls. Ok, the cool part? (I mean, another cool part, since I love cute little rooms like this…) There is an iHome on a little side table! My ipod is just chillen and sending out some sweet songs for us to jam to.
Is it weird that I want to live here? I mean, not so much in the hotel, but in the room? I’m sitting at the desk that separates the king bed part of the room from the L-couch where I’m sleeping. Again, the desk has a neat-o sliding window-door. The hotel even has free 24-hours of wireless net. We’ll be up at 4 tomorrow morning to catch our 6:00 a.m. rescheduled flight. I guess I should try to catch some sleep? Why do people say “catch sleep”? Is it floating around in the air, and you have to be lucky to grab a couple wisps of it? Who knows…night night!
