At the car dealership

Me: (to the car dude) I know absolutely nothing about cars…that’s why I brought this guy (refering to K) along.

Car dude: (to K) That’s a great woman you got there. Making you feel strong and smart.

K: (eyebrow-raising stare)

Me: Haha, yeah he’s, like, my brother.

Car dude:…..oh, that’s…really awkward.

K: You’re not off to a very good start, are you?

Later, after K left.

Car dude: Wait, did your brother leave?

Me: Yeah, he had to go. I mean, he’s not really my brother.

Car dude: What?! You’re killing me!

Me: He’s my best friend.

Car dude: Now, listen. I’ve been in sales a long time: all through high school, college, and now out of college…and there’s some chemistry there.

Me: Baahahahahahaha (more inside than out) Really?
